This is a Course Completion Work, with the following research problem: how is the organization, functioning and challenges of the hospital class of the Support Group for Children with Cancer (GAAC) configured? The general objective is to analyze the organization of the hospital class in the GAAC, based on the elements necessary for its operation, as well as the pedagogical work carried out. A qualitative, descriptive approach was used, developed through a bibliographical review and field research, with the use of a semi-structured interview. Authors such as Severo (2015 and 2017), Mollenhauer (1999), Silva (2007), Sandroni (2011), Fonseca (2003), Barros (2007) and Calegari-Falco (2007) were used for the theoretical foundation. The results obtained reveal that despite all the obstacles encountered – such as the lack of recognition of this field of action, indifference and difficulty of some educational institutions in collaborating, in addition to the suffering of children –, the hospital class of GAAC meets the legislative requirements, or that is, it is well structured both in terms of the physical part and the resources allocated to carry out the activities, and it has excellent pedagogical work. In addition, professionals are very committed to maintaining the continuity of schooling, always with great affection and care for their student-patients.
