Virtual currencies, called Cryptocurrencies, have been standing out for being a technology derived from the Blockchain, a decentralized platform that does not require intermediation. In this regard, tourists are beginning to discover cryptocurrencies as a tool that offers diverse opportunities, simplifying international transactions and overcoming the associated foreign currency exchange costs. Therefore, the acceptance of cryptocurrencies has become a relevant area of study for tourism, as it is a technology that can change the way individuals carry out their payment transactions for tourist services. In this sense, the present study aimed to analyze the factors that influence the intention to use cryptocurrencies as a form of payment for tourist services, through a proposal of a theoretical model based on the Technological Acceptance Model - TAM (Davis, 1989), adding the dimensions “diversity of transaction capabilities”, “regulatory support”, “perceived security”, “personal innovation” and “social influence”. A study governed by hypothetical-deductive logic was carried out, with a descriptive-explanatory character as to its objectives. The analytical approach was quantitative, of the survey type. The type of sampling was non-probabilistic, for convenience, targeting individuals who have already used cryptocurrencies. The study sample consisted of 315 respondents. The data collection instrument used was the online questionnaire, using the Google Forms platform. Data analysis was performed using descriptive and multivariate statistics, especially exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling. In summary, the identified factors and the statistical analysis with the obtaining of adequate and satisfactory indices recognized and validated the proposed model.
