To analyze the occurrence of Pusher syndrome and its association with clinical severity and functional dependence, patients in acute and subacute post-stroke in the city of Santa Cruz-RN. Method. It is a cross-sectional, observational study with a quantitative approach carried out with patients followed in the Physiotherapy School of UFRN/FACISA, from the Neurology Service. The sample consisted of 13 adults of varying genders, selected by convenience. One sociodemographic questionnaire was used, the Mini Mental State Examination, Berg Balance Scale, Physical Performance Protocol Fulg-Meyer, Functional Independence Measure and Scale for Contraversive Pushing. Results. 62% of the sample were female with a median age of 55 years. 69% had ischemic stroke. The right cerebral hemisphere was the most affected (54%) and 23% were diagnosed with SP. Most patients shown to have a bad balance, severe impairment in mobility, sensory and motor function, low functional independence and commitment to activities of daily living. Conclusion. The prevalence of SP depends on the criteria used for diagnosis as well as the knowledge of health professionals.
