Qualidade de vida e variabilidade da frequência cardíaca em mulheres internadas por infarto agudo do miocárdio: relato de casos. Orientador: Ricardo Oliveira Guerra. 2025. 67 f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Fisioterapia) - Departamento de Fisioterapia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2025.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/64495Introduction: Quality of life and heart rate variability (HRV) are important parameters in the clinical assessment of cardiac patients, especially in the context of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Elderly women represent a particularly vulnerable group, often exposed to delayed diagnosis, undertreatment, and a greater physical and emotional impact on their daily lives. HRV, in turn, is a non-invasive marker of autonomic modulation and has been associated with adverse clinical outcomes in post-AMI patients. Objective: To assess quality of life and HRV in women hospitalized for AMI in the cardiology ward of a public hospital in Natal, Brazil. Methods: This was an exploratory case report study in which quality of life parameters were evaluated using the MacNew Heart Disease Health-Related Quality of Life questionnaire, and HRV was measured (15-minute recording, using a Polar device) in five post-AMI women. Results: Quality of life was found to be impaired in most participants, with the emotional domain being the most affected. Regarding HRV, a tendency toward reduced SDNN (standard deviation of all NN intervals) and RMSSD (root mean square of successive differences between NN intervals) was observed, indicating lower parasympathetic autonomic modulation during hospitalization. Conclusion: The findings reinforce the importance of a multidisciplinary approach during hospitalization, focusing not only on clinical stabilization but also on emotional support and the promotion of self-care. Such strategies may help improve quality of life, increase HRV, and reduce post-AMI complications.pt-BRAttribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/Infarto do MiocárdioQualidade de VidaSistema Nervoso Autônomo.Qualidade de vida e variabilidade da frequência cardíaca em mulheres internadas por infarto agudo do miocárdio: relato de casosQuality of Life and Heart Rate Variability in Women Hospitalized for Acute Myocardial Infarction: Case ReportsbachelorThesisCIENCIAS BIOLOGICAS
