To this end, it had the following specific objectives: to present an overview of the Extension Policy and its lines of action; identify extension actions; verify the budgetary resources applied; and relate public funding and university extension developed at UFCA. The research was classified as descriptive, exploratory, quantitative and documentary. The data used were obtained through the collection of information contained in institutional documents and in budget execution reports generated in the Management Treasury system. The results of the descriptive analysis indicate that the UFCA Extension Policy has been consolidated and strengthened over the years by the set of activities carried out since its creation. In its four lines of action – relationship between university and basic school; Community health; socio-environmental technologies; and work, income and solidary economy – it has developed a diversified number of institutional extension programs and actions, as well as carrying out an expressive amount of actions through extension projects. The results also showed that the allocation of resources to the activities that make up the academic triad was balanced over the period thanks to the institutional policy of prioritizing the cost of these activities, signaling that the UFCA has sought to follow the commandment of inseparability advocated in the Federal Constitution. It is concluded that public funding has contributed positively to the development of extension activities at the university, especially through the granting of scholarships to extension students, however these resources have not been constituted as a determining factor, given that even with the stable budget resources over the years, there was an increase in the number of actions and involvement of extension teachers. Based on the discussion presented, it is recommended that UFCA prioritize, in addition to the payment of scholarships, the investment of other expenses of extension projects in order to allow the development of even more expressive actions.
