The investigation was carried out from a materialisthistorical and dialectical approach, with a Marxian basis, and had as a methodological procedure the bibliographical research, through the technique of immanent text analysis. By analyzing the historical process of capital formation and its reproductive imperatives - as a social relationship -, we identified the determinations made that characterize the system as a socio-metabolic control. The interrelationship of the fundamental constituents of this system is self-contradictory, which are established in an internally fragmented way and cause an absence of unity in the material basis of social reproduction. These present themselves as defects within production and control; production and consumption; and production and circulation. For the continued movement of expanded self-reproduction of capital, the sociometabolic system demands, in addition to the control of the material base, a domain of political command that presents itself through the modern State and requires a consignment of a relationship of dialectical reciprocity between economy and politics. The State plays an essential role in remediating possible system control defects through corrective actions. With the support of the studied theoretical, we evidence that, from the structural crisis and the activation of the absolute limits, the State needs to deepen the intervention in the base of the material of social reproduction, corroborating the greater dependence of the capital on the help of the political command. We emphasize that the constitution of the capital relationship prevents a resolution of previous defects and that these can only be eliminated as a consequence of a radical social revolution, which transforms sociometabolism in order to overcome capital. This can only be achieved through extra-parliamentary action aimed at putting socialism into practice, as an alternative to capital and a system of control.Acesso AbertoCapitalDefeitos estruturaisEstadoCrise estruturalMészáros: defeitos estruturais de controle do capital e EstadodoctoralThesis
