However, one of the three criteria adopted by the city of Natal to reach the required number of parking spaces may receive criticism. That criterion is the road classification which the analyzed building is located. This study brings an evaluation of that criterion for Natal/RN in terms of best practices for traffic engineering, making comparisons with regulations in other cities in order to check the impact that road classification has affected the overall cost of the projects, by requiring greater or fewer parking spaces. The results showed that the increases in the cost of certain enterprise, directly linked to the type of road classification which it is located, can reach the order of 20%, what can surely, eventually impair the project.openAccessVagas de estacionamento.
