Issues such as inflation, informality, labor concerns, technology, and management affect efficiency. Particularly, the disparity between the project and its execution compromises quality and generates additional costs. Traditional design methods, based on paper-based communication or Computer-Aided Design (CAD), lead to errors, omissions, and delays in building implementation. In this context, Building Information Modeling (BIM) has emerged as a holistic approach, integrating multidisciplinary data to create a digital representation of a project. Comparatively, BIM demonstrates advantages over traditional techniques, proving to be more efficient in cost estimation, information management, and project integrity throughout its lifecycle. The overall aim of this work is to comparatively analyze budgets for the same construction project, with one budget based on CAD-designed quantities and the other on BIM. The methodology involved selecting a CAD-designed project from a real public tender and creating its BIM model using Autodesk Revit software. The architectural, hydraulic, and sanitary projects were chosen to be replicated in this study. With the assistance of the integrated budgeting tool Seobra for Revit, quantities were extracted from the modeling to formulate the new budget.
