Therefore, seeking ways to foster the practices of the school librarian in relation to the main learning theories in order to support the professional practice of the school librarian is extremely important for a more conscious practice. This work highlights the importance of the school library and the presence of the librarian as an educator, in addition to presenting the Behaviorist, Humanist and Cognitivist approaches, and the three main constructivism theorists: Piaget, Wallon and Vygotsky. For methodological purposes, the study resorted to the use of bibliographical research, highlighting the renowned works of the cited authors, Piaget's genetic epistemology, Wallon's child psychology and Vygotsky's social formation of the mind, in addition to using exploratory research, to familiarize yourself with themes in the areas of Education and Librarianship.
