We start from relational psychomotricity as a therapeutic tool to examine the possible modes of symbolization of the amputated limb, more specifically the breast, which denotes a milestone in woman's femininity. In the literature consulted, the incidence of psychological changes in women with this diagnosis was observed: depression, anxiety, fear of loneliness, death and the adverse effects of treatment, as well as feelings of impotence and failure. The formation of therapeutic groups in hospitals specialized in amputation, which address not only physical but also symbolic mutilation, is called as a professional praxis, and calls the patients to describe, through verbal and non-verbal languages, the lack of self perceived as a deficit. This shows the creative capacity of each patient, the corporal availability for the psychomotor sessions and the use of playful resources as salutary therapeutic contributions to a (re) significance of the life history of each patient contemplated by that knowledge that has its construction in the body as metaphysical vivacity.openAccessPsicomotricidade relacionalMembro fantasmaImagem corporalPsicomotricidade relacional e membro fantasma: contribuições terapêuticas em mulheres mastectomizadasRelational psychomotricity and phantom member: therapeutic contributions in mastectomized womenpostGraduateThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::EDUCACAO FISICA
