The methodology used was the collection and analysis of data from the maintenance calls of the old equipment, to enable the development of a course focused on the problems encountered, which are common to the main ECG equipment on the market. Among the main problems we can mention: components damaged by misuse, dirt on the components, incorrect system configuration and handling errors due to lack of operational knowledge (“false calls”). The course was designed with the operating system of the new equipment as a parameter. After the training was prepared and applied, the new equipment was put into use and a new data collection was performed, in order to verify if there was a change in the amount of errors listed above. The target sector used in the research was located on the fifth floor of the hospital, known as the cardiac hospitalization sector, where the equipment is used daily. The research aims to find out if the training carried out was able to generate a better understanding regarding the use of this new technology, with a consequent decrease in maintenance calls.
