Cultura de segurança do paciente na perspectiva dos profissionais de enfermagem de um hospital universitário de Natal/RN. 2019. 91f. Dissertação (Mestrado Profissional em Práticas de Saúde e Educação) - Escola de Saúde, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2019.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/jspui/handle/123456789/27353The safety culture of the patient should be understood, both individually and collectively, as the product of shared perceptions, attitudes and values in health organizations and demonstrates the degree of commitment to the quality of services provided. In this sense, this theme has gradually taken center stage in the field of health organizations and has become one of the pillars of the movement for patient safety. The purpose of this study was to analyze the patient's safety culture in the hospitalization unit of a University Hospital of Natal / RN, from the perspective of the nursing professionals, using the validated "Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture" instrument (HSOPSC) for the Brazilian hospital context. This is a cross-sectional descriptive research, with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 185 professionals, 136 nursing technicians and 49 nurses, whose data collection was performed between August and November of 2018. Data analysis was performed through descriptive statistics. The data collection instrument was reliable, obtaining the Cronbach's Alpha of 0.90. The results show that there is only one strong dimension, the dimension "Teamwork within the units" with average percentage of positive responses equal to 78.36%. While among the critical areas the dimension "Non-punitive responses to errors" obtained the lowest percentage of positive responses (21.79%). Regarding the number of adverse events reported in the last 12 months, 67.93% reported no notification. Regarding the general assessment of patient safety, 58.72% of the participants rated it as very good. It is concluded that the safety culture of the patient has some dimensions with potential to become strong areas, being essential the support of the hospital management and, above all, changes in the punitive culture against errors. It is believed that this study may contribute to the necessary interventions in the analyzed dimensions, focusing on strengthening the safety culture of the patient.Acesso AbertoQualidade da assistência à saúdeAvaliação dos serviços de saúdeSegurança do pacienteEquipe de EnfermagemCultura de segurança do paciente na perspectiva dos profissionais de enfermagem de um hospital universitário de Natal/RNCulture of patient safety in the nursing professionals perspective of a university hospital of Natal/RNmasterThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE
