Thus this paper aims to present an account of a search through collections of data about musical self-learning with the students of Bachelor of Music of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. Thus, this research was developed through a questionnaire and semi-structured interview, which will have as its fundamental character description of the quantitative aspects of learning and development of students who mostly seeking to combine their academic studies with this practice. As also noted qualitatively this process of self-learning within your study routine. This research aims at the description and observation, explaining the ge neral characteristics of student development within its self-learning. The purpose of this paper is to present the importance of this self-learning in the academic life of the student course contributing to his musical training.
