Biofuel appears as a sustainable alternative for reducing the use of fossil fuels. Supercritical transesterification isa biofuel production route where oil and alcohol react under conditions above the critical temperature and solvent pressure point. The raw materials used were canola oil, which was characterized based on acidity, free fatty acid index and humidity and ethyl alcohol. The reaction was performed in a 15 mL volume continuous flow reactor. The experiments were conducted at temperatures of 270-350° C and constant pressure of 100 bar. The molar ratio and residence time factors were also analyzed, respectively, in the ranges 1:30, 1:40 and 15-30 minutes. The canola oil used had 1.02 mg KOH / g acidity index, 3.46% free fatty acids and 0.006% humidity. Reaction yield analysis was performed by gas chromatography obtaining as best result of ethyl esters at temperature 350 ° C, 1:40 molar ratio and residence time of 20 minutes, with 93,08%Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/óleo de canolatransesterificação supercríticaálcool etílicocanola oiltransesterification supercriticalethyl alcoholTransesterificação supercrítica do óleo de canola em reator contínuobachelorThesisEngenharias.
