The sector has been growing significantly in recent years. Currently, the state is the largest shrimp producer in the country, which shows how important this economic activity is to the region. With a high demand to be met, companies work at maximum operational capacity to achieve their goals, making their assets in constant operation. Maintenance is considered a key point of the success of an organization, being considered by scholars as a strategic factor for a good productive performance. The company underwent a restructuring in the maintenance sector, and during this process the maintenance indicators were implemented to monitor the activities. Aiming at an analysis of the indicators, it was asked if the insertion of these indicators could contribute to the availability and reliability of the assets. Aiming at an analysis of the indices measured by the company, a study was made to observe the importance of such indicators within the maintenance sector, as well as the increased availability and reliability of the equipment promoted by them. The research consisted of analyzing a collected database built in almost two years. For the formation of the database visits were made to the company. The work is of great academic importance because it was not found a significant amount of scientific documents that addressed the subject discussed in it. After the analysis it was concluded that the indicators have interference in the increase and in the control of the physical availability of the equipment. Regarding reliability, no conclusion was reached, since there was no measurement of the base indicators that is necessary for the analysis of this criterion. Thus, a new work is proposed to evaluate in parallel the relationship of these indicators with the increase of the reliability of the assets.Carcinicultura. Planejamento e Controle da Manutenção.
