Novos caminhos para a performance da bateria mediada por interfaces tecnológicas. 2021. 135f. Dissertação (Mestrado em Música) - Escola de Música, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2021.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/43756In a context in which technology is increasingly used in the world of music, it is necessary to analyze, discuss and apply this possibility of inserting the drums into musical interpretive practices mediated by technological resources, more specifically, in the mixed electroacoustic music context. From the second half of the twentieth century, computers began to be increasingly used as part of the setup of instrumentalists within musical performances. As one of the developments, electronic sounds could be recorded, processed and added together to the sounds of acoustic instruments, both in deferred time and real time. In parallel, the sound of acoustic instruments could also be captured and processed in different ways. Added to these possibilities, interfaces and/of digital instruments continued to be developed, also presenting themselves as new technological resources for sound manipulation to be explored by performers at the time of performance. In this research, it was noted that few studies were carried out in the academic field that associated drums performance with different types and processes of interaction, with technological mediation. Therefore, this work becomes a pioneer in the brazilian academic field, since its objective is to analyze the development of the performance of five works of mixed electroacoustic music directed to the drums. More specifically, through studying, analyzing and executing the works, it was tried to understand and attribute the role of the resignification of the function of the drums from the reflection of performance, focusing on the discussion of the interpretive aspects associated with the interpreter-machine relation. The methodology of this work was based on the realization of experimentation workshops, from the choice of repertoire, analysis of the preparation steps and their respective interpretation. Through experimental workshops, it was explored various possibilities related to this theme in the construction of performances of contemporary music. Thus, the studied and presented works are: Buttonwood, Post-Lightened, Gravidade Zero, Maracá: para tape, instrumentos de percussão e uma bateria compartilhada and Quatro Voltas ao Início. The analysis took place from the audio and video records of the rehearsals and performances of the works. Among the results, the creation of grooves for the drum duo and the use of cell phone with electronics in real time stand out as particularly significant. The need for a greater technical and interpretive refinement to be applied to each of the interpreted works was also discussed. More specifically, it was reflected about the analytical observation of musical gestures and the musician behavior in an environment with more attributions and perceptions that go beyond playing his or her instrument. Therefore, a reflection on technical-interpretive aspects of these works, as well as their performances, contributed for a research that delves into the use of drums with technological interfaces for the creation of new sound material.Acesso AbertoBateriaMúsica eletroacústica mistaRelação intérprete e tecnologia digitalEletrônica em tempo realNovos caminhos para a performance da bateria mediada por interfaces tecnológicasmasterThesis
