Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) is a low-cost, easy to apply and non-invasive neuromodulation technique that have showed benefits for individuals with chronic pain, through modulation of brain areas related to pain volume. Objective: Evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of tDCS in reducing DOMS in sedentary individuals. Methods: This is a parallel, randomized, controlled, two-arm double-blind clinical trial protocol conducted at a single center. Fourteen sedentary young adult men will be randomized into two groups: Gactive and GSham. A total of 5 tDCS sessions will be conducted and a protocol for DOMS induction will be performed. Evaluation will be performed at baseline, 24, 48 and 72 hours after the DOMS protocol. The primary outcome will be pain and the secondary the functionality. Discussion: The results of this study will provide clinical evidence of the applicability, efficacy and safety of tDCS in sedentary individuals with delayed muscle pain after resistance exercise.
