In the test batch, IPTG was added to the culture at a final concentration of 1 mM. In fed-batch, 0.2 mM of the inducer was added every hour, reaching a final concentration of 0.8 mM. The procedure of induction by pulses of IPTG indicated an increase of approximately 49% in biomass production compared to batch. The results showedthat the strategy ofinduction using pulses of IPTG (fed-batch) was more effective for 503 antigen expression when compared to the simple batch strategy.
