With the goal to analyze the proficiency to work into a population of nurses from Health Primary care, a transversal study with 190 nurses from the State of Rio Grande do Norte in Northeast of Brazil was fulfilled. The analysis of the variables was performed through the descriptive statistic by mean, deviation - standard, median, minimum and maximum amounts of the scores of quantitative variables. The nurses show a low capacity with a score of (1,58%), moderate (32,11%), good (44,21%), great (22,10%). With an average under 43 points, was what 75% of the nurses presented to the ability to work. According to the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health - FIOH, for the workers who had presented those scores, must be implemented measures whose objective is restore work capacity where is found low, improve moderate work capacity, support the ability for the good work and maintain the ability to work great.
