Estudo e aplicação de algoritmos criptográficos para redes de sensores sem fio em um ambiente de rádio definido por software. 2021. 50f. Dissertação (Mestrado em Engenharia Elétrica e de Computação) - Centro de Tecnologia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2021.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/32790In this work is proposed a comparative study of cryptographic algorithms to be applied in Wireless Sensor Networks. Having as motivation the lack of researches with practical results, the main goal of this work is to verify the viability of the insertion of studied algorithms in a experimental environment based on a Software-Defined Radio system. Due to the internal limitations of each node, energy and computer resources utilization efficiency becomes an aspect as important as cryptographic quality, in order to ensure a good performance of the security technique. For this, the cryptographic algorithms AES, RC6 and RSA are tested for analysis of data such as execution time, memory usage, processing cost and power consumption. Among the three studied, AES obtained the best general performance, especially when it comes to energy efficiency, being this result validated when comparing the energy spent by the communication system without and with the cryptography technique implemented, attaining an increase of 1,93%. Thereby, it is expected to increase the security in Wireless Sensor Networks, having in consideration its performance, memory and energy constraints.
