A mixed research approach was used, combining qualitative and quantitative methods for a comprehensive understanding of the collected data. A structured questionnaire was applied to students who worked or are currently working as monitors, which obtained 11 respondents. The data collection took place in July 2024, and the questionnaire was distributed via Google forms and also sent via WhatsApp. Before application, the questionnaire underwent a pre-test with monitors from other courses to ensure clarity and understanding. Data analysis revealed that the monitoring activity is valued by students, contributing to their academic and professional development. Most students noticed an improvement in skills such as interpersonal relationships, proactivity, and communication after participating in academic monitoring. In addition, they added value to their curriculum, obtained additional hours, and acquired valuable knowledge and experience. Furthermore, monitoring played a crucial role in the decision of some students to pursue a teaching career. However, the study also identified challenges related to two major areas: time management and student engagement.
