Dissertação (Mestrado em Ciências da Saúde) - Centro de Ciências da Saúde, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2020.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/31357Introduction: Technological advances have created a new virtual reality and digital media such as cell phones, websites, apps and social networks, expanding individuals' access to communication. The use of apps among women has become popular as a support tool for intimate self-care and health education, and may help to reduce problems related to female sexual expression. Objective: Develop an app for mobile devices aimed at women who can provide information for self-care of gynecological and sexual health. Methods: The construction of the SexGynCare app was carried out in three stages. The first consisted of characterizing the target audience (socioeconomic profile, behavioral and digital fluency) and searching for apps in the iTunes App Store and Google Play Store using the keywords "Gynecology" and "Women's health" and selecting the apps that were within the inclusion criteria of the study, being used to support the construction of the app. In the second step, a bibliographic search was performed in the electronic databases MEDLINE and Scopus, using the combinations of the MeSH terms: (mobile applications OR mobile application) AND (gynecology OR sexual health OR behavior sexual OR women's health) to select the studies that theoretically grounded the work. Third stage, development of the design and content of the multimedia application, involved the construction of the screens, their interfaces (layout and design) and the production of the themes and content of the screens. Results: Characterized the profile of 68 women interviewed (target audience); most have sexually active lives, with 1 to 3 sexual intercourse a week, 69% of whom do not use condoms during sexual intercourse and the majority use cell phones to access social networks (82%). For the search for apps for gynecology and women's health, in the iTunes App Store and Google Play Store, 899 apps were found. The existence of a greater number of apps on the Google Play Store (Android system), however, only 134 apps were selected, due to the inclusion criteria, supporting the development of the app's design and other tools. In the literature search, in the electronic databases, 667 articles were found, however, 68 were used to base the construction of the app, using the study inclusion criteria; selected articles supported the development of the app's content. The construction of SexGynCare was divided into thematic axes: 1) Presentation of the application, registration and access; 2) Gynecological and intimate health; 3) menstrual cycle; 4) contraceptive methods; 5) Sex and sexually transmitted infections, and 6) Gynecological emergency services. Each theme has its specific content, offering the user a combination of tools to assist in the management of self-care of gynecological, intimate and sexual health. Also, educational messages, notifications, reminders are available to promote user interaction with the app, facilitating self-management, prevention and health promotion activities. Conclusion: SexGynCare is a technological tool that couldhelp women in managing their intimate health, in adhering to healthy behaviors, providing access to health services and information quickly and easily.Acesso AbertoGinecologiaSaúde da mulherAplicativos móveisEducação em saúdeComportamento sexualSexGynCare: desenvolvimento de sistema de aplicativos móveis para assistência ginecológica e sexualmasterThesis
