Desenvolvimento sustentável e desigualdade social na Ilha do Marajó: uma análise dos desafios e oportunidades. 2024. 23 f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Humanidades) - Instituto Humanitas, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/59581This article seeks to understand sustainable development from the critical perspective of authors such as Antônio Bispo dos Santos and Ailton Krenak and then study its influence on social inequality in a region. Based on this theoretical context, we analyze the relationship between social inequality and sustainability on Marajó Island. To support our analysis, we used a qualitative approach, conducted a literature review, and conducted a detailed case study on Marajó Island, aiming to understand the social and environmental phenomena in the region. The results of the research revealed a significant interconnection between sustainability and social inequality in the archipelago, highlighting the need to reevaluate the concept of progress. We conclude that development must go beyond economic growth, incorporating environmental and social well-being, valuing the knowledge of traditional communities, and meeting their needs. In this way, it is possible to expand individual freedoms and promote the condition of agency for all inhabitants.Attribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/Desenvolvimento sustentávelIlha do MarajóDesigualdade socialDesenvolvimento sustentável e desigualdade social na Ilha do Marajó: uma análise dos desafios e oportunidadesSustainable development and social inequality on Marajó Island: an analysis of challenges and opportunitiesbachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS
