The society that privileges the image, paradoxically, in cognitively blind to the causes of most problems involving social relations. On the other hand, the iconophobia, contempt image, especially by the academy, hinders the perception of the "imaginal world" (MAFFESOLI, 2005) as it is evident. The intention is to reflect on the contemporary using the image as a research tool, following the methodological movie potential in their ability to condense the current social imagination through the film composition. The conductor film for the reflections is Blindness (Meirelles; 2007), a movie based on the book by José Saramago. The film was chosen for addressing the issue of physical and metaphorical blindness as a critique of hegemonic worldview that formats the western contemporary, capitalist, urban and mediated. The emphasis in social relations corresponds to an ideal type of society where inequalities and social control are extreme.
