Due to the low cost associated with broadband systems, there has also been a substantial growth in the indoor deployment of networks using the IEEE 802.11n and IEEE 802.11ac standards, known as "Wi-Fi networks," and their significant presence in residential and workplace environments. This increased demand for greater wireless coverage has been a concern for the general population, leading to various questions about the risks of exposure to non-ionizing radiation (NIR). In this context, this study aims to measure and assess the risks of non-ionizing radiation by verifying the intensity of the electric field associated with these devices in residential environments. The radiation sources analyzed for this study were Wi-Fi systems (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) operating in indoor areas. The measurements were conducted and analyzed according to Act No. 458 of the National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL) and Law No. 11,934. The results concerning the measurement of the electric field (V/m) were evaluated based on the exposure limits to NIR for the general public established by Brazilian legislation.
