The method used for this work is the integrative literature review, a method that aims to gather and synthesize the contributions/knowledge already produced about the object that is to be studied. The research was carried out in November 2021, using the descriptors: Mental Health, CAPS and Psychiatric Reform. This work presents as a general objective to analyze the scientific literature on the importance of CAPS in the effectiveness of Mental Health in the Virtual Health Library (VHL), having as a database the Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS), published from 2010 to 2021. The specific objectives are focused on: analyze the concept of madness for mental health, as well as the trajectory of the Mental Health Policy in Brazil; analyze the role of CAPS in the construction of the new mental health model.
