Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Turismo) - Departamento de Turismo, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2025.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/62915This research analyzes the transition of Carnatal, from a popular event to a privatized model, investigating its social, economic and cultural impacts, as well as the evolution of revelers' perception regarding the event. The objective is to understand how these changes influence local community dynamics and examine the relationship between events and tourism, observing how these areas are interconnected. The methodology used is an exploratory descriptive case study, with a qualitative approach through the application of interviews, research with videos and images, direct observation, online research/social networks and documentary research. The main results include the consolidation of Carnatal as a cultural activity of tourist relevance in Natal/RN, with a direct impact on economic and cultural aspects and the strengthening of local tourism. Despite facing some organizational challenges, management has, over the years, shown a capacity to adapt and manage crises. In this way, Carnatal stands out as an event that is rooted in local culture and that awakens a feeling of belonging in the community.CarnavalTourismCarnatalTurismoEventosNatal/RNEventsCarnatal como elemento cultural: da popularização a privatizaçãoCarnatal as a cultural element: from popularization to privatizationbachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS
