For this approach to theoretical discussions about reading, children's literature, literary literacy, storytelling and mediation of the professor in literature reading teaching process. After the the theme of fairy tales and fantasy tales will be approached - origin, characteristics - as important discursive genres for cognitive and emotional development of children. In the realization of this monograph, some studies by the following authors are taken as fundamental: to understand the analysis of genres, Maruschi (2008) was chosen; to think the teaching of reading, Rojo (2009) and Solé (1998); on literature teaching for children, Amarilha (2009), Lajolo (1994) and Abramovich (1991); on literary literacy, Cosson (2009) was chosen; to think about the structure and the importance of fairy tales and fantasy tales for children, Coelho (1991), Bettelheim (2002) and Abramovich (1991).
