The methodology of the study is a qualitative approach, of a descriptive nature under the bias of the experience report in which it discusses the gibbering in elementary education. At school, the work was done through the teaching of the coconut dance of zambê, based on the methodological resources of the triangular approach of Ana Mae Barbosa (2012) and the dance in the context, advocated by Marques (2010), which brings the referential of the triangular approach to the context of dance teaching. As an evaluation of the work carried out, there is a significant approximation of students with the North-Rio-Grandense cultural context in which they are situated, but whose popular manifestations are not always known, due to the precariousness of public policies for the maintenance and circulation of these manifestations. It is concluded that this type of proposal broadens the access to artistic production in the context of the school and contributes to the formation of the public for the dance, since the pupil and the community in general still enjoy very little of the local artistic productions.
