The main objective is to promote interest in reading, writing and understanding literary texts, through active methodologies, filling the learning gaps of 6th year students at Escola Municipal Benvinda Nunes Teixeira, in Guamaré. The research focuses on the literary work Alice no País da Mentira by Pedro Bandeira (2018) and seeks to correct deficiencies in the field of skills that should have been developed in the initial years of Basic Education. The methodology is based on the implementation of a Didactic Sequence, based on the theories of Rildo Cosson, in addition to Annie Rouxel and Gérard Langlade. The study highlighted the challenges faced, including the social and economic vulnerabilities of students.
