To this end, the study sought to: understand the concept of socio environmental responsibility in the business sector; present an overview of the sector; identify the main socio-environmental impacts, both positive and negative; and analyze how these trends manifest themselves in the context of Rio Grande do Norte. The analysis confirmed that, although wind energy is a clean and renewable energy source with economic and sustainability benefits, the development of the sector, particularly in the context of Rio Grande do Norte, intensifies social and environmental problems, including the generation of land conflicts, pressure for land use, and negative impacts on local flora and fauna. The importance of transparent and responsible corporate practices is highlighted to ensure the support of local communities and the sustainable development of the sector, guaranteeing full respect for the local communities involvedpt-BRAttribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/energia eólicaresponsabilidade socioambientalimpactos socioambientaisRio Grande do Nortesetor eólicoimpacto sociambientalwind energysocio-environmental responsibilitysocio-environmental impactsResponsabilidade socioambiental no setor de energia eólica: análise bibliográfica da situação brasileira e do Rio Grande do NorteSocial and environmental responsibility in the wind energy sector: a bibliographical analysis of the situation in Brazil and Rio Grande do NortebachelorThesis
