Methods: Prospective cross-sectional study with 70 postpartum women from a public maternity hospital. Through established protocols, knowledge and attitudes regarding child hearing health, functional health literacy through the Short Assessment of Health Literacy for Portuguese Speaking Adults (SAHLPA-18), and cognitive function were assessed, and sociodemographic information was obtained. Knowledge was classified as "good" or "poor", attitudes as positive or negative, and functional health literacy as inadequate or adequate. Statistical analysis was performed using the JAMOVI software, with nonparametric tests. Results: Among the 70 participants, 50% presented inadequate functional health literacy, 62.9% demonstrated good knowledge about hearing health, and 95.7% showed positive attitudes. Furthermore, functional health literacy was associated with age, education and cognitive function, but there was no correlation with the level of knowledge or attitudes towards hearing health. The participants had positive attitudes towards infant hearing health, even with little knowledge or inadequate functional health literacy. Conclusion: There was no influence of Functional Health Literacy on puerperal women's level of knowledge or attitudes towards infant hearing health; however, there was an effect of sociodemographic variables and cognitive functionLetramento em SaúdeConhecimentoAtitudePerda auditivaMãesHealth literacyKnowledgeAttitudeHearing lossMothersO letramento funcional em saúde influencia o conhecimento e as atitudes em saúde auditiva infantil de puérperas?Does functional health literacy influence the knowledge and attitudes regarding child hearing health in postpartum women?bachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE
