This is a longitudinal study with quasi-experimental design. Demographic partner questionnaires and psychometric scales were applied. Participants were women who were previously diagnosed with depression and / or anxiety. Pre and post intervention tests were performed. Participants underwent a light intensity aerobic exercise program. Data were tabulated in EpiData version 3.1 and analyzes were performed in SPSS version 23.0. Most women were 61 to 79 years old (62.5%), were married (50%), had not completed elementary school (50%). Overall, depression and anxiety scores were significantly reduced at the end of the training program. Therefore, the practice of light intensity aerobic exercise promoted improvement in symptoms of depression and anxiety in middle-aged and elderly women. Further studies suggest a longer intervention period, with separation of experimental groups and controls.Exercício físico.Sintomas depressivos.Sintomas ansiosos.Efeito do exercício físico sobre sintomas de ansiedade e depressão em mulherespostGraduateThesisSaúde coletiva.
