Therefore, it was necessary to discuss the notion of hunger, relate the scenarios where hunger is presented in Vidas Secas and Triste Partida to finally bring hunger portrayed in the two works. The texts were analysed using thematic anlysis by reduction of paraphrases in texts as proposed by Jovchelovitch and Bauer (2003). Upon the results of analyzes of the works, we observe the correlation in the following categories: fear of hunger and animalization man. The fear of hunger was presented by food shortages, btter memories of the past and lack of rain.
