Methods: This is a quasi-experimental intervention study. The sample consisted of 50 individuals of both sexes, in which the questionnaires of Stages of Change in Weight Loss (Transtheoric Model) were applied; Periodic Feed Compulsion Scale (ECAP); Stunkard Silhouettes Scale (Body Image) and Food Frequency Questionnaire (QFA). Nutritional status was assessed by means of anthropometric measurements. Results: The intervention group was observed for the high adherence group, improvements in behavioral attitudes, with evaluation of Transtheoric Model, ECAP and body image perception. Changes in dietary intake with increased intake of raw salads, vegetables and fruits (p = 0.049, 0.030 and 0.001, respectively) and reduction of anthropometric means BMI, CC, CA and% GC (p = 0.003, 0.008, 0.015 and 0.024 , respectively) between the two moments of evaluation. Conclusion: This strategy proved to be positive for coping with obesity, however, there is a need for further studies for a referential basis that encourages its application in the actions of health teams.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/ObesidadeSaúde públicaTerapia comportamentalTerapia nutricionalAlterações comportamentais e alimentares em obesos após grupo de intervençãoBehavioral and eating disorders in obese patients after intervention grouppostGraduateThesisSaúde coletiva
