The main objective of this study is to develop a protocol for carrying out a scope review that will map the concept of paternity by health professionals during childbirth and the puerperium in a maternity hospital. This protocol will be developed based on the steps proposed by Arksey and O'Malley and Peters et al., theoretically based on the Joanna Briggs Institute manual and guided by (PRISMA-ScR), which will guide the study selection process. The databases used will be the multidisciplinary health sciences: PubMed/Medline, LILACS, scielo, Web of Science, and for gray literature the Capes Theses Bank.
