Aplicabilidade da fibrina rica em plaquetas na prevenção e manejo da osteíte alveolar: revisão integrativa. Orientador: Maria Regina Macedo Costa. 2025. 32 f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Odontologia) - Departamento de Odontologia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2025.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/61840Alveolar osteitis (AO) is a common postoperative complication following tooth extraction, characterized by intense pain, especially between the 1st and 3rd postoperative day, and the absence of blood clot formation in the socket. Among the therapeutic approaches, platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) has emerged as a promising alternative for the prevention and treatment of AO due to its regenerative and anti-inflammatory properties. The aim of this study is to analyze the efficacy of PRF as a protocol for the prevention and treatment of AO through an integrative literature review. Searches were conducted in the PubMed, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library databases using the search strategy: ((PRF) OR (platelet-rich fibrin)) AND (dry socket). Studies in English, Spanish, and Portuguese were included. The analysis of controlled clinical trials and systematic reviews indicates that the application of PRF results in a lower incidence of AO, faster pain relief, and accelerated tissue healing. Although the results suggest the superiority of PRF, it is recommended that studies with larger sample sizes and greater methodological rigor be conducted for further validation of the technique.Attribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/Dry socketPlatelet-rich fibrinTooth extractionOsteíte alveolarFibrina rica em plaquetasExtração dentáriaAplicabilidade da fibrina rica em plaquetas na prevenção e manejo da osteíte alveolar: revisão integrativaPlatelet-rich fibrin applicability in prevention and management of alveolar osteitis: integrative reviewbachelorThesis
