Since listening to stories allows the teacher to stimulate his students in different ways, developing skills related to drawing, thinking, imagining, playing, reading and writing, because texts has the potential to give wings to imagination and stimulate learning. (ABRAMOVICH, 1994). For the basis of this work, a bibliographic survey was carried out about what is in the literature on the subject, in addition to interviews with teachers of Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education of Escola Municipal Professora Valdemir Fernandes de Medeiros – Jucurutu/RN, seeking to identify their real needs, in order to produce work that is really useful and suited to their needs. This is a qualitative research, based on the methodology of participant research, a methodological modality that involves the researched subjects in the process of analysis of their own reality. The analysis of the interviews made it possible to identify a general profile of the professors, making it possible to observe their difficulties and desires in relation to working with literature, also bringing reflection on the motivation of their responses, considering being a professor beyond the professional.
