Even with severe environmental conditions, these outcrops present microhabitats with higher humidity in fractures, fissures and small cavities that are favorable for the establishment of vegetation. The present work aimed to analyze the geological and geomorphological aspects of the Apertados Canyon Geosite, and how these influenced in the distribution and occurrence of plant species. During the development of the work, bibliographical and cartographic reviews and fieldwork were carried out to analyze the influence of the discontinuity surfaces of the Apertados Canyon on the distribution and floristic composition. The results indicate that on rocky walls with a strong slope, plant species from the Bromeliaceae and Cactaceae families predominate.
