This research aims to identify events held at the institution between 2020 and 2024 and academic productions on the theme of artificial intelligence. The goal is to understand how technology is being incorporated into the academic environment and what ethical and pedagogical challenges will be faced by teachers and students. The methodology includes a documentary analysis, using the UFRN institutional repository as a source for searching for works and the SIGAA platform for finding events. A total of 108 academic works were identified, including final course projects, dissertations, and theses on the theme of artificial intelligence in different areas of knowledge, and 39 institutional events also focused on artificial intelligence were found. It is possible to see that the frequency of events has increased significantly since the COVID-19 pandemic. The data acquired revealed a great mobilization around the theme, which also indicates gaps in the critical discussion of the social and educational effects of these technologies. The analysis of the data points to a need for university education that not only keeps pace with technological developments but also promotes ethical, critical, and inclusive reflection on the use of these means.
