Natal, RN, 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/60363This study identified the educational practices in the quilombo of Acauã, located in the city of Poço Branco/RN, aiming to understand how these practices contribute to the strengthening of the culture and identity of the quilombola community studied. We highlight that the black women's dança da farinhada group, the casa de farinha, the residents' association, the Escola Municipal Maria Francisca Catarina, and religious practices are identified as educational practices that reveal the sociocultural specificities, historicity, and resistance to inequalities faced by the residents of the quilombo. Reflections on the concepts of culture and identity were anchored in Freirean literature. We conducted a study of reality to comprehend the significant universe in which the research subjects are embedded. This study was carried out based on three pedagogical moments guided by the theoretical considerations of Pernambuco (2013). We used semi-structured interviews, recordings, various notes, and photographic records.
