Objective: To highlight the collective discourse of the oldest old on aging and its implications. Methodology: This is a descriptive exploratory research with a qualitative approach. Eleven elderly people assisted by a basic unit located in the Seridó region, in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, were interviewed. The qualitative analysis was carried out using the Lefèvres' proposal, entitled Analysis of the Collective Subject Discourse. Results: The following Central Ideas were found: satisfaction, dissatisfaction, the best of longevity, disadvantages of this phase of life, changes arising from longevity, positive repercussions on health, autonomy and independence, negative repercussions on health, autonomy and independence, good relationships, social isolation and family conflicts.
