This article analyzes the challenges faced by this modality, identifies the subjects of EJA, their potential and perspectives in teaching youth and adult education. The methodology adopted was bibliographical research, complemented by interviews, focusing on the challenges reported by students in their school career. Among the main challenges identified are school dropout, difficulties related to work, personal life and the need for continued training of teachers.
