The research carried out was qualitative, with interviews with representatives of local government organizations and residents of the city, in addition to the analysis of documents such as the Multi-Year Plan from 2018 to 2021 and from 2022 to 2025. Furthermore, statistical data published in the digital collections of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (INEP) with regard to the Education Development Index (IDEB), as well as data published in the document Regions of Influence of Cities (REGIC). Furthermore, observations were made of the city of Acari, specifically, of the aspects for its production as an intelligent and humane city. The results achieved indicate the continuous effort to bring the city of Acari closer to the pillars of accessibility, sustainability, education, culture and governance. Among the actions carried out, we highlight investments in accessible public infrastructure and education with the appreciation of local cultural identity, in accordance with the principles of the Brazilian Network of Human, Smart, Creative and Sustainable Cities (CHICS). However, there are also challenges, in detail, to expanding urban infrastructure and integrating public policies.
