Thus, it awakens to possible solutions to the challenges related to the acquirement of these skills for this professional occupation. The research method is bibliographic, which was based on books, papers, videos, domain analysis as well as software consultations. Research is carried out on search engines, repositories, databases as well as journals related to the topic in Information Science. The type of research regarding the objectives is descriptive and it is configured as a literature review, in which different types of materials were selected, privileging updated sources. It is noticed that to enter the data management area, the librarian needs specific knowledge to perform the assigned roles regarding the data management, organization and treatment as well as research support. It is necessary to verify formal education for this role.
