Methods: This is an integrative review of a qualitative nature. The databases selected for the search were Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS), Scientific Eletronic Library Online (SciELO) e pesquisa na Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS). The descriptors used are: "Puerperal Infection"; "Caesarean section" and "Normal birth". Results: To better show the results of the research, it was decided to organize them in a table. The articles were classified as: a prospective observational study, a field research of qualitative and descriptive modality, a quantitative descriptive exploratory exploratory and retrospective research, and an integrative review. Conclusion: it can be concluded that the topic of puerperal infection in cesarean surgeries is not yet approached in studies, since only 4 articles fit the criteria of the research.
