Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Engenharia Elétrica) - Centro de Tecnologia, Departamento de Engenharia Elétrica, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/61112Given that fifth Generation (5G) mobile communications technology is emerging and will require a greater number of antennas than its predecessor, there is concern regarding the rate of adaptation of local antenna legislation by of Brazilian municipalities, since it is the responsibility of municipal management to establish urban and landscape parameters that the infrastructure supporting telecommunications equipment must comply with, in order to obtain licensing to be installed and operated in their city. As the local antena law is brought into compliance, the licesing process for support infrastructures tends to be facilitated. The study shows the level of adequacy of the municipal antenna law of Natal/RN (Complementary Law No. 206, of December 30, 2021) with the main federal legislative instrument (Law No. 13116, of April 20, 2015; or ‘Law General of Antennas’), which is presented in detail as a model that cities should look to when updating/creating their local antennas laws.
