In our hypothesis, Freire presents himself as a fundamental reference for educators in training, as he indicates the possibility and need to form a critical view of the world from a perspective in which democratic values and the search for empowerment in a collective perspective are first premises. We debated, from the perspective of non-neutrality in the act of educating, about the validity of the Freirian approach in subjects relevant to the formation of the pedagogue and that only recently gain space in the academy, such as the subject Education in Human Rights, which is important to provide reception, respect and appreciation of diversity and democracy. Bring some excerpts from his work in comparison with perspectives such as Decoloniality and Southern Epistemologies, which advocate the reading of the world and integral history as starting points for another possible education. Freire shows the necessary “awareness” and the “dispute over the course of society” by historically subalternized groups, the oppressed.
