Although it has been on the agenda for many years, mainly due to feminist struggles, external public policies to combat violence against women are still ineffective. In this context, the state of Rio Grande do Norte, as well as other regions of Brazil, faces complex challenges related to violence against women. Thus, shelters are immensely important temporary protection spaces, because in addition to interrupting cycles of violence, they offer immediate safety and psychosocial support. Given this scenario, this final undergraduate thesis (TFG) seeks to develop an innovative project for a shelter for women victims of domestic violence, based on principles of biophilic architecture, in the city of Natal/RN. The study explores how biophilic architecture, by integrating natural elements and promoting healthy environments, can reveal an essential role in the process of sheltering and recovering these women. The proposal aims not only at physical safety, but also at creating spaces that contribute to the emotional and psychological well-being of victims, providing an environment of healing, resilience and empowerment.
