Methods: For this, an observational, cross-sectional study of quantitative and qualitative analysis was developed, which recorded up to 15 minutes of free interaction in the clinical setting between the primary caregiver and his or her hearing impaired child. For the analysis of interactions an instrument adapted by the researchers considered reliable by the analysis of Crombach Alpha was employed. The videos were analyzed independently and blindly by two researchers. Results: The categories that emerged in the analysis of interactions as priorities for speech-language intervention were: intrusiveness, monitoring of the child's understanding by the interlocutor, the use of communication strategies and the use of language structures for lexical and syntactic expansion.
